Running approval tasks without an approver
Finds approval tasks that are still running but that nobody active can approve, because every approver was deleted or disabled. Typically the residue of a migration or of people leaving without their agendas being handed over.
Running it
Reports agenda -> Running approval tasks without an approver. No parameters. Output is an XLSX attachment.
| Column of report | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Id | Approval task identifier |
| Task name | Localized task name (en, then cs, then the workflow event type) |
| Requester | Who created the request |
| Requested for | Whom the request is for |
| Created | When the task was created |
| Request id | Identifier of the role request the task belongs to |
| Approval process id | Workflow instance the task waits in |
| Inactive Approvers | The approvers the task is waiting for - by the nature of the report, none of them can approve it. Only disabled approvers are listed by name: the cell is empty both when the task has no approvers at all and when their identities were deleted, because a link to a deleted identity is read as empty. |
Limits
- Only the new approval engine. Tasks of the Activiti engine, which the product still ships, are not in the report - an empty result does not mean nothing is stuck.
- Only tasks in the RUNNING state are listed.
What to do with the findings
Add an active approver to the task, or cancel the request it belongs to.
